The African Democrats go out all guns blazing for Bob and Morgan

March 29 2017 – ZIMBABWE’s newest opposition, new kid on the block, The African Democrats, (TAD) has come out all guns blazing, taking a radical stance of getting rid and   arresting  everyone  in the current  Zanu PF led government, found guilty of committing crimes but also blasting MDC T leader Morgan Tsvangirai for “betraying” Zimbabweans.

“ TAD calls for an immediate retirement of all of Mugabe’s personnel, forced retirement of any member of Mugabe’s regime, namely  his current ministers, ambassadors, police commissioners, air force, intelligence and all security organs and all war veterans still occupying influential positions in various parastatals,” says SA based TAD president Marco Machona, in an interview with recently.

“Old wine shouldn’t mix with new wine,”  adds Machona, who believes that the best way to rebuild Zimbabwe, would be to start from scratch.

“To achieve true democracy, it is important for the TAD government to build or construct Zimbabwe from scratch. TAD is uncompromising in dealing with all those of Mugabe’s security personnel who committed atrocities,” says Machona.

Formed in  2013 TAD is led by Machona who is currently studying for his PHD in Food Security  at Wits University in Johannesburg.

Unlike some opposition parties, who have hinted at letting Mugabe retire peacefully, if he resigns , Machona, says his Party if voted into power will actually ban Zanu PF until all its cases are  fully investigated and resolved.

“In fact TAD will re-join Zimbabwe  to the  ICC / Hague for a period of 10 years so that all those involved with crimes against humanity can defend themselves in neutral courts,” states Machona emphatically.

He says his government will track down all the country’s “looted wealth  and summon countries like China, Singapore and Dubai to fully disclose all of Zimbabwe’s wealth hidden in their financial systems and countries.

According to the Party, especially in a period where a number of political parties have been mushrooming, as Zimbabwe gears itself for another watershed elections in 2018, they are neither fly by night or full of talk.

“TAD is probably the most underrated yet the most progressive and fastest growing political parties in the c ountry right now and way before the actual registration and listing and all the legalities, TAD was already making inroads,” says Machona.

Machona says his Party already has offices  in  four cities and towns,  in Zimbabwe  with full time employees, namely in Harare, Bulawayo, Gokwe, Hwange and South Africa.

‘’We now have presence in six  of the 10 Provinces in Zimbabwe and have engaged two chieftainships, Nemangwe and Hwange.

“We are now in more than 25 Constituencies including Zvimba, Mugabe’s constituencies because our secretary general Amon Mhungu is from Mugabe’s neighbourhood,” says Machona, who himself  comes from Gokwe but is originally from Masvingo .

Machona also says his Party has also made inroads in areas such like Chinhoyi, Mutare, Gokwe, Hwange, Bulawayo, Silobela, Nkayi, Gweru, Kwekwe, Kadoma, Tafara / Mabvuku, Marondera, Masvingo, Goromonzi, Harare, Chegutu and Binga., adding that TAD has just started a  door to door campaign  in Hwange, Harare and Gokwe.

But with more than 40 political parties, already having thrown their hat in the ring, raising questions among Zimbabwean voters, why they shouldn’t unite and fight Mugabe as one or join MDC T , which has dominated the opposition for the past  17 years, Machona, like he is with  Zanu-PF, is equally scathing of Morgan Tsvangirai, NERA and being part of  a Coalition with other opposition parties.

“’TAD is very  concerned with  the relationship between (Tendai) Biti and Mai Mujuru and the relationship between (Didymus) Mutasa and Morgan Tsvangirai and now between Biti and Tsvangirai.

“That is suspicious, foul, betrayal and very scandalous. TAD  sse  all these relationships not as political maturity but very corrupt, dirty and  a total disregard  for the many people who died for MDC and those who had to run away  to the Diaspora,  to see MDC going to bed with the very people who destroyed our nation, he says. – reporter
