ANC salutes women on Women’s Day
CAPE TOWN – THE African National Congress on Sunday saluted the women of South Africa and the world on the occasion of Women’s Day.
The ANC also acknowledged the hard won struggles for “women emancipation through many revolutionary struggles the world over”, the party said in a statement.
“This day represents the resilience, steadfastness, and unrelenting commitment to reclaiming their position in society that has been denied for centuries.
“As the ANC, we take pride in the role played by the ANC Women’s League as the champion of gender issues in partnership with many organisations at home and abroad.
“The legacy of their struggle is the critical role women play in government, business and society. Over time they have proven effectiveness in leadership in various structures of society,” the ANC said. – ANA
