MDC- T youths beaten up in Harare

JOHANNESBURG – SEVERAL youths from MDC- T were beaten up in Harare today.

Details at the time of going to press were sketchy but zimsinsa sources say  several MDC-T youths were beaten up  with some still missing.

While some had  sustained serious injuries and have been admitted at Avenues Clinic in Harare.

Sources say they were struck by iron bars by suspected Zanu-PF youths during a visibility program today.

According  to  the MDC -T ‘s Harare Province’s deputy information and publicity secretary, Bridget Nyandoro, Zanu-PF attacked

their members  saying that  Budiriro was a no-go area  and that they did not want to see anyone in the area wearing an MDC-T T-shirt.

Nyandoro says their members have been arrested and are in police custody at Budiriro Police station.

“Sadly  the rest have been detained despite the immense pain they are in,” she says adding that they are likely to appear in court tomorrow.

Members of the MDC- T in SA expressed outrage at the attack, with one member saying “members of Zanu-PF structures should  hunted down.”
