BRITISH writer and actor Rupert Everett is to spend several days in Germany filming a new movie about Oscar
Wilde’s time in exile, the local authorities in the southern state of Bavaria said Friday.
The shoot is to begin in mid October and will take place in the Franconian region of northern Bavaria, pending the signing of contracts, according to the statement.
The film team is thought to be interested in a stately home in the town of Mitwitz as a filming location.
Directed by and starring Everett, The Happy Prince tells the story of Wilde’s winter years, which he spent in exile in France. – dpa
