Business organisation for Zims in SA to be launched
THE Zimbabwe South Africa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ZIMSACCI) will be launched tomorrow on the the 21st of November at the Alliance Francaisse in Cape Town.
ZIMSACCI will represent Zimbabwean businesspeople in SA which will speak with one voice on issues affecting their business and the communities.
“The idea came about after realising that Zimbabwe does not have a platform for people to get together, network and discuss business despite the fact that most of its citizens here in SA have ventured into business and have become entrepreneurs,” says ZIMSACCI CEO Julius Shamu .
ZIMSACCI will also be affiliated to other local chambers such as the South African Chamber of Commerce & International Chamber of Commerce among others.
ZIMSACCI member will not only network but also to create job opportunities, provide a platform to advertise on the chamber’s website and equip members with skills and development training among other things.
“Members will become affiliated to the organisation once they pay their subscriptions which will be valid for one year pending renewal and will be run by a board of directors , which will be responsible for day to day running of the chamber,” explains Shamu.
“ZIMSACCI welcomes all individuals living in the republic, business people & organisations that require a platform to associate, network, foster business to business relationships and share ideas with peers from various business sectors,” he adds.
Currently the organisation has a database of more than 200 Zim SA based businesses and will establish branches in SA’s major cities of South Africa next year. – Patience Rusere
