Dynamos and Caps in epic battle
September 16 2017 – CEPHAS Chimedza who is one of the few players to play for both Harare giants Dynamos and Caps United, is tipping DeMbare to complete a double over their rivals on Sunday (tomorrow).
The two top teams from the capital clash again in a space of three weeks and despite being hard hit by suspensions, Chimedza feels Dynamos still has an edge going into Sunday’s match.
” It has always been difficult to pick which team would do well in the derby but I have always supported the team that would be having the better chance of winning title. Dynamos are going for the title and they are also in better form than Caps United so I am rooting for them to win,” said Chimedza.
Chimedza broke into the premiership with Dynamos after graduating from the juniors but made the move to Caps United that saw him being crowned the soccer star of the year in 2004 in a year Makepekepe won both derbies against DeMbare.
Dynamos go into the match without top striker Christian Epoupa who is serving a two match suspension after being red carded against Highlanders last weekend.
Also missing will be star midfielder, Tichaona Chipunza the only player to have started all Dynamos matches this season after picking his third yellow card against Bosso .
Lincoln Zvasiya, a regular in defence is also out through suspension. They however welcome back defenders Obey Mwerahari and Marshal Machazane from injury.
Caps United ‘s only absentee through suspension is utility player Valentine Musarurwa who is versatile on both left and right flanks.
Dominic Chungwa who ended Caps United ‘s seven year winless streak against Dynamos, scoring the only goal to give his side a winner last year at Rufaro stadium is back after missing the first leg through suspension three weeks back.
Dynamos were 2-0 comfortable winners in the first leg through an Epoupa brace. – Soccer 24
