Karuru scores for losing Amazulu

April 17 2018 – ZIMBABWEAN SA based’s AmaZulu duo of Butholezwe Ncube and Ovidy Karuru played the whole ninety minutes in 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates.
Karuru assisted Usuthu’s goal when he provided a perfect low cross for Mabhuti Khenyeza who find the back of the net.
Pirates midfielder came on as a sub with seven minutes to play. ,Khama Billiat, Teenage Hadebe and Ronald Pfumbidzai did not play over the weekend while Cape Town City’s Matthew Rusike who was expected to make a return from injury against SuperSport United was not part of the squad. Kaizer Chiefs’ Hadebe missed out due to suspension.

Gerald Takwara was an unused substitute in Ajax Cape Town’s game at Chippa United.But others were in action with Chiefs’ Willard Katsande in the starting XI who went on to create two good chances in the second half while United striker Evans Rusike’s goal drought continued.

Baroka FC winger Talent Chawapiwa recovered on time and played until the 66th minute in the 0-2 defeat to Maritzburg United.

Chawapiwa had picked up a knock in the last round and was subbed off 10 minutes into the game.
