Pasta and pizza increase Spur sales

CAPE TOWN – SPUR  announced on Wednesday that total restaurant sales across the group increased by 12.1 percent to R6.2 billion in the year to June 2015, with sales from existing restaurants up by 7.8 percent.

Among the group’s brands, which include Spur Steak Ranches and John Dory’s Fish restaurants, Panarottis Pizza Pasta stood out with 25.4 percent growth in total sales.

The group had also benefited from currency fluctuations. Restaurant sales in South Africa grew by 11.3 percent, while international sales increased by 18.6 percent in rand terms. Applying a constant exchange rate, international restaurant sales increased by 12.1 percent.

The group said it had opened 44 outlets in South Africa and eight internationally during the period under review, including the first Spur RBW (Ribs Burgers Wings) company-owned store in Corby in the UK in June 2015. – ANA
