Prophet Magaya comes to SA
www.zimSinSA reporter
PROMINENT Zimbabwean clergyman Prophet Walter Magaya is gearing for a massive crusade scheduled to take in early October in Pretoria.
The event which will take place between the 2 and 4 October is expected to attract hundreds of thousands amidst reports that previous crusades held in Botswana reported attracted top government and business officials, traditional leaders, diplomats and hundreds of thousands of ordinary citizens.
Magaya who reportedly has over 60 000 followers in Zim alone says his calling is to heal the sick, dump and to minister salvation to many is what attracts people to his young but fast growing ministry.
“My life is centred on ministry that is all I do. I also believe that people who come to our ministry are attracted by the anointing upon the ministry,” he told this journalist in an exclusive interview earlier Tuesday(today).
Prophet Magaya, who is the founder of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance ministry (PHD) says he believed that the church at large needs to give political leaders direction.
“The role of the church is to give focus to those in power,” he says.
Responding to criticism against him over his close relationship with Zim’s President Robert Mugabe, Magaya said he entertains everyone regardless of political affiliation.
“I speak to everyone who wants to speak to me,” he says.
Prophet Magaya who also runs a venture fund called Planet Africa said there was need for ministers of the word to be empowered economically so as to meet the needs of the society.
According to Magaya the Planet Africa project is a ten billion dollar venture company with interests in construction, mining and community development initiatives.
Magaya is optimistic about Zimbabwe’s future prospects and believe the current economic challenge the country is facing is a passing phase.
“Germany has passed through similar challenges that Zimbabwe is passing through”, he adds.
