SA cops stop car from being smuggled into Zimbabwe
POLICE in Limpopo have stopped a car from being smuggled from South Africa into Zimbabwe today, Friday.
Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, who was leading a high density operation in Musina and Beitbridge, uncovered the attempted smuggling, says spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
“After visiting the roadblock and a walkabout at the adjacent mall, the General took a helicopter to patrol the area when he noticed the suspected stolen vehicle, a grey Toyota inside the Limpopo river,” says Mojapelo.
“The vehicle was semi-submerged in the water and the suspects were about to use five donkeys to pull it towards the Zimbabwean side.”
Mojapelo says the suspects fled into Zimbabwe, adding that the car is still inside the water and once police pull it out, will they be able to find out its origins and owners. -ANA
