Sasol’s Bongani Nqwababa nominated for ZAA SA 2016 Business Leader of the year.

EXECUTIVE director of Sasol Limited Board, Bongani Nqwababa has been nominated for ZAA SA Business Leader of the year.

Nqwababa is also a member of the Risk and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Committee as well as the Capital Investment Committee.

He was appointed Joint President and Chief Executive Offi cer (CEO) of Sasol Limited on 1 July 2016
together with Mr Stephen Cornell. Their joint key objectives are to:
• pursue zero harm;
• nurture our foundation business and secure licence to operate;
• deliver sustainable growth and clarify future investment opportunities;
• build a resilient organisation for the future; and
• drive operational and capital excellence.
Prior to his appointment as President and Joint CEO, he was Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer of Sasol Limited responsible for Financial Control, Corporate Finance, Business Development, Portfolio Management, Investor Relations
and Information Management. He was appointed to the Group Executive Committee
on 1 March 2015. Before joining Sasol, Bongani was Finance Director at Anglo American Platinum
Limited. He is also a previous Finance Director of Eskom Holdings and Chief Financial Officer of Shell Southern Africa. He was previously a non-executive director of Old Mutual plc and Chairman of the South African Revenue Services Audit Committee.
He has worked in The Netherlands and United Kingdom in his previous roles.He served as an independent non-executive director of the Sasol Limited Board from
December 2013 until September 2014. Bongani is a Chartered Accountant and obtained a Bachelor of Accounting Honours
degree from the University of Zimbabwe in 1989. He also obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with merit from the Universities of Manchester and Wales, Bangor, United Kingdom.
