Zimbabwe to host Cosafa tourney
January 28 2019 – ZIMBABWE will host the COSAFA 2019 tournament, says the regional body.
The competition which will see the Warriors defend their title on home soil is set to start on the 19th of May and runs until the first of June.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association have agreed to act as hosts for the competition, and COSAFA is now waiting on the necessary government guarantees needed to rubber-stamp the event,” reads a Cosafa statement on its website.
“The tournament will serve as vital preparation for those Southern African sides who reach the 2019 African Nations Cup finals, which will be held in Egypt from June 14-July 13.”
Zimbabwe last hosted the COSAFA Cup in 2009 when they won the trophy after beating Zambia 3-1 in Harare. – Soccer 24
