Zimbabwean Kaizer chief’s Katsande upbeat over ABSA PSL

ZIMBABWEAN KAIZER Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande believes they are ready to kick-off their Absa Premiership campaign, despite the season still being over 10 days away.

Amakhosi will launch their bid to win back the title they so easily surrendered to Mamelodi Sundowns last season with a trip to Bidvest Wits on August 23.

The Soweto giants are then due to play the new Cape Town City franchise three days later in the MTN8 and  Katsande says they are prepared.

“We are ready to kick off with the league programme,” he told the club website.“We can’t wait because we are motivated to do well and give our supporters something to cheer about.”

Chiefs have been involved in plenty of pre-season friendlies, which have seen them achieved mixed results.

However the Mutoko born, Katsande, however, says they should not be judged on those games and only once the real action begins.

“We are in a preparation phase for the start of the 2016/17 PSL season,” he added. “We are perfecting some of the tactics.

“We are also cautious not to give away much detail to the opponents at this stage of the pre-season.” – ANA
