Harare born Apostle Murinyu brings God’s gospel to SA

May 12 2017 – APOSTLE Frankton Murinyu has come a long way since he started singing gospel music at the tender age of 12 years old to releasing his first album and then forming  his own churches both in Zimbabwe and  in  South Africa.

The soft spoken Murinyu has a released a new gospel album called Ishe Ndinotenda, Lord I thank you, wi the songs composed by Murinyu himself with his wife Winnet doing the backing vocals.

Produced by  veteran musician Jonathan Mugaz, the album has five songs, which are  Mumba MaShe – a song that talks about how Christians should behave and treat each other in the house of God.

Also on the album is a song called Chitown in appreciation of Harare’s Chitungwiza town situated few kilometers from the capital city, Dzokai kunaJesu – a song that encourages people to repent an come back to Jesus Christ, Ndinotenda – A thankful song to appreciate the love of God, especially for being alive and to witness his grace  daily, Estere – A song about Esther whose life was not so fancy but she found favor from the Lord. It gives hope to the needy and  Amen, danceable tune that praises to the Lord for or his goodness and mercies upon our life. 

Apostle  has also founded a group Chiedza Gospel Singers  February 2006 at Zengeza High school where he was teaching as a music teacher and most of the  singers were part of the school choir.

This group was supposed to  to record its first album but couldn’t  because of  lack of funds but that same year, Zengeza High school choir won many awards under   Murinyu’s leadership who was also a member of Chitungwiza Harmony Singers founded by the late Israel Dzangare Chiweshe from the year 2001 until 2007.

Marine says he  learnt a lot about music through this group that was led by the legendary Israel Dzangare Chiweshe.

Born in a family of four at  Edith Operman Maternity Unity in Harare has risen significantly from when he started serving God  at the age of 12years where he was a worshipper in church to being ordained in 2008 by Jehovah Jireh Ministries under MES in Hillbrow .

He served there for three years until December 2010.He also taught at a local high school to 2011.

Murinyu  also the formed The Word Apostolic Ministries (TWAM) in January 2011 at the Hillbrow theatre and then moved its premise to corner Bree and Simmonds in 2013.

“God has  blessed TWAM with a building 146 Albert street thus in January 2015 where it is located up until now, ” says Murinyu adding that the ministry has grown to have church elders, church pastors, deacons, ushers, praise and worship team amongst other departments,” says Murinyu.

TWAM has more branches thus six  Soweto branch at Lulama primary school (Klipspruit) , Rosettenville at Vine College, Johannesburg Central branch at 146 Albert Street ,Freedom Park, and at home in Harare and Centenary.

TWAM has  eight pastors,  seven elders and 12 deacons in all the branches.

“Many people normally come for healing, God’s Word, prophecy and to be served by God,” adds Murinyu, whose married to  Michelle.

Chiedza Gospel Singers is still recruiting talented young singers from Zimbabwe between 16 and 35 years old. Interested  singers should also be able to dance.
