Pair busted in Port Elizabeth for fatal shooting

Port Elizabeth police’s Gang Task Team arrested two suspects within three hours of a shooting, which left one person dead in the city’s Northern Areas on Monday, today.

Police Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that two friends were walking in Highfield Road, Schauderville towards Gelvandale on when the shooting occurred.

Naidu said that it was alleged that two people walked up behind the pair and started to fire shots.

Rouche Cross, 25, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body. He collapsed and died on the scene.

His friend managed to flee the scene but sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot.

The suspects aged 27 and 33 years were arrested on Monday evening in Schauderville, about three hours after the shooting.

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder. – ANA
